Saving the Environment through ‘Plant a Seed Day’

The society has run two ‘Plant a Seed Day’ events sponsored by the City of Whitehorse to promote sustainable gardening and food resilience. We hosted a stall in Box Hill Mall giving out free seeds to people in our local community to encourage them to grow their own products such as vegetables and flowers. We were pleased to see so many people come to our stall to pick the seeds they liked. Our volunteers enjoyed the day providing people with gardening tips. We hope that by giving out seeds, more people will start their garden patches and enjoy their own harvest over time.
