Over 50 people including carers and care recipients participated in Carers Week event on 19th October 2023, among them people on wheelchairs or walkers who came with their carers, some coming from a long distance such as from the western suburbs. The event commenced with a warm welcome by the organiser followed by a couple of games which was thoroughly enjoyed and well participated. The highlight of the event was a sumptuous lunch intermingled with laughter. The event finished with the host introducing CCCIS services and delivering carer service’s brochures. Special gifts were presented to those who had won the games.
The event was well received by the attendees and feedback from the participants were very positive. The aims of the activity was achieved where carers had the opportunity to make new friends, connect with other carers, share their experiences and had a good time.
